A full field at nine.
Results before the buffet.
Golf tournament software for the person running the outing, the member-guest or the invitational: sign-up and the waitlist, flights, scoring from every cart, the board on the clubhouse TV, and the purse paid by place.
$249 once, about $2.50 a head across a hundred players. Players never pay.
The field fills itself. The desk keeps the money.
Open sign-up, share one link, and stop keeping the list in a spreadsheet.
- One entry for the whole event, a single, a pair or a foursome. The captain enters and can name partners later, as TBD for now.
- A member price and a guest price, named on the sign-up page and in every confirmation email.
- A capped field with a waitlist. When a pair withdraws, the next entry that fits moves in and is emailed.
- Entry fees ticked paid at the desk as the cash comes in, with the total collected at the foot.
Flights, pairings and paper, done at a keyboard.
The committee meeting's to-do list, one row at a time.
Every cart scores. The clubhouse watches.
One scoring link per group, in any phone's browser. The board moves with every hole, on phones and on the TV over the bar.
- Scoring links by text. No app, no login. One bar of signal is plenty; scores send when they can.
- A live board anyone can open, with a filter for every flight and division.
- TV mode for the clubhouse. Open one address on the TV and it cycles the leaders, each flight, the contests, the skins and your sponsors on its own.
- Your logo and your sponsors on the board, the TV, the results and every printed card. A hole sponsor shows on the scoring card at its hole.
- Hide the finish. Keep the last holes off every public screen until you reveal the winners at the dinner.
- Attest at the 18th. A playing partner checks the card hole by hole and confirms it with one tap; the desk sees whose card is still open.
The results are ready when the last card is.
Champions, places and the purse come straight off the board. Nobody sits in the pro shop with a calculator.
Whatever the committee plays.
Stroke play, team formats and match play, each with its allowance and its own board. The rules of each are on the games pages.
What it doesn’t do yet.
A few things an outing chair might expect that Live Links Golf leaves to you.
What outing chairs ask before they commit.
- How do players score without downloading an app?
- Each group gets a scoring link, sent by text or in the tee-times email. It opens in any phone's browser: no account, no install. Whoever holds the group's link enters its scores and the board moves as they go. A group that keeps a paper card can hand it in, and the committee enters it at the desk.
- Can it run 144 players off a shotgun start?
- Yes. Set the round to Shotgun and the starting holes are spread across the groups, with a hand override for any group. Where two groups share a hole the print kit letters them 4A and 4B. Every group scores on its own link, and the TV pages a long field ten players to a screen. Live Links Golf sets no field cap; the cap on sign-up is yours.
- What does it cost per player?
- The tournament is $249, paid once by whoever runs it: about $2.50 a head across a hundred players, under $1.75 across 144. Players never pay. Entry fees are yours: Live Links Golf tracks them and takes no share.
- Can our sponsors appear?
- Yes. Upload the event's logo and add each sponsor with its logo, website and holes. Sponsors show under the live board and the results, as a slide on the clubhouse TV, at the foot of every printed card, and a hole sponsor shows on the scoring card at its hole and gets its own printed hole sign. The TV also carries a Presented by line.
- Do players need an account?
- Not to score or to watch. The scoring links and the public board need no sign-in. Entering online through the sign-up page asks the person entering to sign in; the partners they enter can be names, or TBD until they know. Walk-ups are added at the desk.
- Can players pay the entry fee by card?
- Not yet. Sign-up names the price and tells each entrant it is paid at the desk; the committee ticks each player paid on the Entries screen as the cash or checks come in, and the purse is figured from the fees.
- What happens when two players tie for the win?
- The board counts back and says so in words, such as won the tie on the back nine, 38 to 40. If the committee would rather play it off, a playoff by sudden death, over a set number of holes, or decided off the course with a chip-off settles the board, the champion and the purse together.
